His thirst for new knowledge, coupled with the market demand for fire engineering led CGW to support his part time studies through to graduation in  2019 for a Master of Engineering Studies in Fire Engineering at University of Canterbury.

Hamish has gained international experience in mechanical engineering working for large multinational firms in both Engineering Consulting, and Engineer, Procure and Construction areas of the power generation industry. The work has been based both in Australia and for more than half a decade in Switzerland.

Out of work hours, Hamish counts himself lucky to be able to enjoy family life as well as half a lifetime of off the planet experiences in paragliding, a new found passion for astronomy and a loyal dachshund.
