Clem Gibbens – Engineering Geologist

Clem joined CGW in 2024 as an engineering geologist based in Christchurch. He has worked in the geotechnical field for around 6 years full time on jobs around New Zealand, though predominantly in Christchurch following the Canterbury Earthquakes. Born in Greymouth on the West Coast of the South Island but Clem is now firmly established in Christchurch since moving over to undertake studies at the University of Canterbury.
Clem’s experience includes undertaking geotechnical investigations for residential sites, subdivisions and commercial sites, and slope stability and liquefaction analysis. Clem will be working towards gaining his chartership in Engineering Geology in the next 12-18 months.
In Clem’s spare time you will find him running around the backyard with his wee fella Jack, but also enjoys getting out on the cricket pitch or golf course whenever he can.
